How soon did you take a baby shopping or eating out, or when are you planning on doing so?

Everyone is different and has different views, but I’ve been out to eat with my baby already, he was 2 weeks old at the time (this was for Mother’s Day)
I feel it’s better for my mental health, and my anxiety if I just bite the bullet and take him out.
I struggled to get out when my first was born and being stuck indoors all the time really contributed to my depression I had at the time.
There is no rush though! Take baby out when you are ready. It’s so important to get some fresh air!
I am off out to Aldi tomorrow with my almost 3 week old❤️
(Just for reference, I am breastfeeding)

As soon as I felt able to about 2 weeks.(c-section)

Brought my 6 week old to the pub today for the Ireland match, everyone loved him! I brought him out for walks and to tesco from 8 days old. Just a few times in first few weeks but now we do something almost every day 🥰

We have been going for little walks around our village from about 2 weeks

I took mine out for lunch at 1 week old but I’d carefully timed it between his feeds as I didn’t feel comfortable breastfeeding him in public. So I was only out of the house for about an hour and a half but it made me feel much better after being in hospital for 5 days.

At first I didn't go out without a chaperone for the first 2 weeks as I felt so poorly. I've been on BP meds, surviving on little sleep and food but now slowly things are improving. I'm planning on taking the baby out today to my mum's like I would normally do on Sunday

Day 1… Nando’s!! Day 2… pizza place! Right from the beginning, it keeps us all sane :)

thank goodness your appetite didn't change. Mine is slowly coming back. I've lost weight without even trying! 😂

End of week 1 for a walk and quick lunch

I’ve been out since day 2 with him. Although I didn’t feel ready in myself but have a hectic life with other kids. I’m 4 days PP and out doing kids swimming and sitting wishing I was at home 😭 xx

My baby is almost 3 weeks, so far have only been on 4 short 5-15 min walks with my husband. Slowly building up to going out on my own and for longer as will have to navigate breastfeeding/changing in public and don’t want to be on my own for that, so will be at least another week, if not longer! But I’m in no rush and would rather wait until I’m comfortable and mentally/physically ready and LO is more predictable!

1st went shopping at 5 days old
2nd 16 hours after giving birth went to a cafe
3rd 11 days on school run with my partner
Everyone is different I just hate being stuck inside
