This is my first baby and first grandchild on my husband’s side. He’s one of 3 boys.
My first intuition was that baby was a girl. All other family members either “guess” boy or basically flat out say that they WANT us to have a boy!
My mother-in-law even said, “I hope it’s a boy so I can help more. I was lucky and had 3 boys. I wouldn’t know how to take care of a girl!”
Well, NIPT test came back today and it’s a GIRL!!! 🎀
I’m ELATED, but I’m afraid of how everyone else will feel.
I actually feel guilty that I wanted a girl. 😟

he’s one of three boys, maybe this will be the first of all girls ! u don’t need to feel guilt from it being the gender you wanted just because other people didn’t silly !!! this is YOUR baby and the only thing that matters is that she is loved <3 if ur fr nervous just make a little joke ab how spoiled she will be being the only girl in the family or something, and don’t sweat it ! your MIL will learn how to have a girl around and will probably have fun with the difference that she hasn’t experienced yet 💗

Same thing happened to me. I’m having twins and they’re girls. My husband was bummed at first, but has warmed up to the idea. His family on the other hand has made this such a terrible experience. Sending novels about how it’s okay that they’re girls… we were planning to have more kids anyway. We’ll get our boy! Just over and over. As if this pregnancy isn’t worth anything?? My father in law is sending novel text messages about what we need to save for because they’re girls. It’s just such negative sad energy and I wish it wasn’t that way. But I am truly so excited and at the end of the day we’re the mommas. Once these babies are earth side all of this won’t matter at all. I’m so excited for you!! Girls rock!! 🎀🎀

Also I feel like God sends girls to families that needs them❤️ let them learn how wonderful it will be!

Congratulations on your baby girl!!! It’s the same way for our family (except my husband is 1 of 5 boys) and we are on our second boy. I’ve come to realize that it is normal to have expectations and feel one way or the other. Everyone will love baby girl no matter what!

It’s a girl and you’re happy. Your happiness matters. They will slowly come around to it and I’m sure they will be happy too. Also congratulations!

It’s not your responsibility to make everyone else happy, especially through something you cannot control. Don’t let the guilt start before she’s even born. Congratulations on your sweet bundle, enjoy every second of this wonderful news!!

wow 😞 people really don’t know how awful they sound do they? I’m sorry to hear this but I’m sooo excited for you!!
omg THANK YOU!!!! This is exactly how I’m feeling and how the family I believe will react!!! Ugh!
You ladies are so wonderful. Thank you for the kind responses!!!!!
