Formula in hold luggage
Has anyone put ready made formula bottles in their hold luggage when flying? Did they make the journey ok?
I’m aware you can do a click and collect order and pick up after security but that just gives us more stuff to carry on to the plane

You'll be absolutely fine taking anything for a baby water/formula/food pouches in your hand luggage. The usual rule is you can bring all of that onto a plane for an infant under 2 years old. I've been abroad twice with my LO who's 8 months and we were able to bring ready made formula and pouches through security no problem 😊
What airport you flying from?
Most will have a Boots store where you can order them to collect Once you're through security and they don't count towards your luggage allowance, and as you've bought them inside the airport they are already security checked so you can use them during the flight
Then you can put what you need in your luggage for during your stay, wrap them up in a towel this helps stop them getting too cold mid-flight and exploding
yeah I’m aware what we can take in hand luggage, and will take more than enough for our journey there. But I’m not carrying 5 days worth of ready made formula in my hand luggage; will be so heavy!!
we’re flying from stansted so there is boots but I can have enough formula for our journey there in hand luggage without weight being an issue. It’s just not possible to carry round 5 days worth of ready made formula which is why I was asking about hold luggage. Wrapping them in a towel is a good idea! Thank you
We're going away in January, I'm hoping she will be off formula by then so I don't have to lug it around lol
Oh I misread your message..... you can put them in your hold luggage as well, i put some in a plastic bag then wrapped around a towel for protection. If not already, it might be worth bringing powder for back up and buying bottled water then boiling it as all ready made will weigh down your suitcase fast.
We went in November they just put them in a scanning machine and handed them back to us x
We put ready made formula bottles in our hold luggage and they were absolutely fine. We wrapped them in clean film to avoid any spillage if exploded and then around some cloths.
I’ve weighed a six pack of formula bottles and we have over 60kg of luggage allowance between 2 adults and 1 baby for 5 days, so it’ll be fine. Plus I only have one pair of jeans that fit so I’ll not be taking much for myself!!
Yes always put formula in suitcase , and you can also take whatever you need for baby in baby bag for flight xx
