Do you also feel the pressure to make mom friends so your kid can play with their kids? … I feel like I’m failing my kid for not having more kids around them

I feel that pressure a lot. I sometimes feel forced to go to baby and parent classes regularly so that hopefully my baby will make friends with the other babies eventually.

Yesssss!!! Me too 🥺

Honestly, I don’t personally feel that pressure yet at this age. My daughter is 16 months. I do feel pressure sometimes from other people…like in laws that don’t agree with me staying home or when random people ask if she’s in day care yet and I say, “no, I’m staying home with her” and they just look confused lol.
I take her to Early On centres usually twice a week in the mornings, to play and interact a little. I have one mom friend that I meet up with regularly who has a 16 month old as well but it’s not like our babies are “friends” yet really…sometimes they share toys but usually they take toys from each other, get fussy and cry lol 😂.
My mom was a stay and home mom and I have 1 brother 2 years younger. Neither of us went to day care or pre school until we started JK. We both made friends and turned out fine lol.
Don’t stress mamas. Our babies will be just fine! Ages 1-3, they need their mama more than friends (in my opinion).

Go to earlyon centre's they are great places for kids to play and you can also meet other moms there.

I have three kids under two, they all play together so no, I don't feel the need to make mom friends at all 😝

I heard they don't need to socialize until they are ready to start school. I heard the activities with babies are mostly to socialize with other moms but not necessarily for the little ones. Just play it naturally! Relieve the pressure 👌

Socializing with other kids is not always a good thing. Some kids are a bad example and your kid may pick up those bad habits.
I have 3 year old twins and they are not in daycare.

@Panagiota I understand your point. However, if you never socialize your children when they get to school they won't know how to interact with others. They need to be socialized to learn how to self regulate when they are around kids with "bad habits." It's inevitable your children will be around other children when they start school. Teaching them how to interact appropriately with other people and children is important for their development.

@Haydee as a kindergarten educator it is better to socialize your LO before school.

@Melissa Thanks for letting me know hon. Would you recommend an age we should encourage it?

@Haydee as soon as possible. We started going to early on programs when my girl was 3 months old.
