Positive results for gestational diabetes

I had my GD results back and they are positive. Midwife has asked me to come in tomorrow to get a testing kit. Anyone else had the same? Would be good to know what to expect now with this result x

I am currently 26 weeks pregnant. I was diagnosed with GD at 13 weeks in this pregnancy and I was diagnosed at 31 weeks with my first pregnancy. It can feel very overwhelming at first. I recommend following Gestational Diabetes UK on FB as there is so much helpful advice on there regarding snacks and meals as sometimes the GD diet can become quite monotonous. You get into a routine of eating the same stuff every day because you’re confident it won’t cause spikes. I would also have a read of the info on https://www.gestationaldiabetes.co.uk it can really help you get your head around things. When you go to your app tomorrow, they will give you your testing kit and tell you how many times a day you’ll need to test your blood and what levels you should stick to. The good thing about GD is you are monitored much more closely and have more scans so more opportunity to see baby. Any questions, please just ask.

They will ask you to do your blood sugar test 4 times a day for a period to see which way is better to control your blood sugar. There is dietitian they can arrange you to meet if diet control is preferred or there are medication they will recommend you to take if they think is more appropriate. Normally both diet control and medication would recommend together. Also exercise after meal helps.
Myself has been on insulin control at the beginning because my blood sugar just out of control and I have allergies reason and metal health issues so I can’t do diet control.

Young mum

Hi guys,

I’m just wondering if there’s any other young parents that are getting further into their pregnancy and like, genuinely just clocking that I’m gonna be responsible for a baby and I don’t know everything their is to know about baby’s I feel like I’m gonna be so useless and accidently be the worst mum in the world 🫣

Does anyone else feel like this? Or felt like this? I’m 19 and genuinely have so much anxiety about this now I’m 20 weeks lol

So annoyed, dog jumped on me :( now I’m anxious

I have a big dog and she NEVER jumps.. today I came home and my mum was with me visiting and my dog must have just got over whelmed and she jumped and ended up scratching my lower back,

with that I’ve bent backwards almost and stretched my lower belly and it didn’t hurt as such just felt like tha shock ligament pain but ofc I haven’t actually bent that far since being pregnant and now I just feel anxious really and just need some reassurance. It only happened about 15 mins ago and I have felt baby a little since

But why is there always something to worry about!😭
