Preparing bottles for a day out
So we are going out soon and will be out the house for about 6 hours (and won’t be at anyone’s house/or restaurant to prepare a bottle).
Normally I will put boiling water in bottles and store in bottle bags (which keeps water cold or hot for while) and add the formula when we are out when it’s needed and wait for bottle to cool. I’ve not been out for this stretch of time yet though and if the water cools too much it won’t kill the bacteria in the formula.
I thought about pre making bottles and letting them cool and putting in fridge and storing them in the bottle bags but I couldn’t reheat when we’re out and also how long would they last before bacteria grows?
What do you guys do with bottles if you’re out for a long period of time?

I pre makes bottles with boiling water and just put them in his nappy bag before we go out then he has them ready when he’s hungry x
I'm always paranoid about water temp, so I get already made milk when going out.
I use a thermos to keep water hot and a nuby rapid cool to cool formula when ready (or use 'hot shot' method if im unable to sterilise the rapidcool before the next feed,) ive thermometer checked my thermos to make sure it keeps temperature as im paranoid and after 9 hours the water was still 76 degrees. (Above 70 is hot enough to safely make formula.)
All that said my daughter is now on special allergy formula which has to be made with room temp water anyway so ill be changing my methods. 🤷♀️
We have a flask of boiling water and a nuby rapid cool and make our bottles that way but we only put the boiling water in the nuby so we’re not having to wash and sterilise it after every use, it’s a life saver for us when out and about
I love my rapid cool so much i even use it at home over the perfect prep now! They are actual magic, wish theyd have been around when my eldest was small.
I also use the flask and nuby rapid cool method and I take a bottle of bought liquid formula as a back up in case I need it and can't clean out the rapid cool x
I just bring boiling water in a thermos and do the hot shot method, and a baby bottle filled with cooled boiled water- far lighter than bringing the rapid cool x
We’re also going to be out in a few weeks time and having to pre-prepare bottles. We will pop the pre made cooled bottles in a cool bag. We bought a portable bottle warmer called Inoby which just needs to be charged up and you can put warm the milk up on the go with no need to plug in/ get hot water etc. x
we use ours at home too! Wish it was about when we had our first as well it’s a god send 🙌🏽
We just take pre-made bottles, much easier, most brands do them, Aptamil, Hipp, cow & gate & Kedamil 🙂
Ready amde formula bottles all the way and I have a tommee tippee thermos with boiling water to warm them as my LO will only take warm milk 😂😂
We have a chilli’s flask of boiling water, a Tommee tip thermal bag and make it about 1hr before due a feed.
Can you not buy a few of the pre made bottles. More expensive I appreciate but just for the day it won’t make a great difference. They are about £1.10-50 each so you would only need a couple.
I bring a flask with water and use my nuby rapid cool doing the hot shot method.
I do all my bottles this way so really when im out for a long stretch i just make sure i have enough water, formula and bottles to do me xx
