Contraception

Hi all,

I’m a first time mum and baby is nearly 7 weeks so we have an appointment with our GP next week. I’m sure they will ask about contraception and after doing lots of research I’m even more unsure!

I wonder what has worked for well for other mums - I had a forceps assisted birth and an episiotomy so I’m not sure how I feel about having the coil fitted at the moment but I’m equally nervous about hormone contraceptives as I’m not sure how it will affect me.

Appreciate any experiences you can share…

TIA

If you're not breastfeeding I recommend the Evra patch. For me it's the best option because you change it once a week, so less likely to miss it. Plus my cycles are super regular with it, more than without I would say 😅.

Hormonally it has no effect on me. I also was on it for about 2 years before we started trying for a baby, and I got pregnant right away.
