Hi everyone, I had a first scan today and was happy to see the baby is well, strong heartbeat, yolk sac, but outside of the gestational sac there is what the sonogpraher called "a small bleeding" he said it isn't a threat to the baby but I should mention this on my next scan. He asked about bleeding or spotting but I had none. I am now 8 weeks 4 days. He said it might absorb or come out as brown discharge. I googled š and everywhere it says black scenarios.. That it can cause a miscarriage and women should be on a bed rest, no exercise, no sex etc. I am all worried and so disheartened! I am seeing my OB-GYN in 11 days. Anyone with an immediate (I pray positive experience) or advice? All symptoms I have re this are cramps but that feels like bloating cramps or at times like period cramps. Thank youš„ŗš„ŗ

I had one of these detected too but have carried on as normal! Symptoms still strong and am starting to show so hoping/assuming all ok. X
how far along were you when they found out and how far now? š©· Were you advised to rest or some precautions? I'm just not sure how shall I proceed and what can I do to help this go away.

I was 8+2 then. No wasnāt told to rest of anything. The sonographer wasnāt really concerned about it just said they will just double check it on the 12 week scan.
OK, thank you. Best approach will be to keep calm and positive then š¤š¼
Thank you! I will keep an eye on everything and good to know there is EPU to reach out to if needed. Great your daughter was safe and sound šš„°

Iāve not had one but my friend did. It was picked up as she had bleeding, they initially thought she was ectopic and were going to terminate but turned out to be a hematoma. She was fine and her body just absorbed it in a few weeks.

I had a scan last week and I was told I have the same thing, he asked me if Iām bleeding but Iāve had none. He told me to see the GP but I donāt think there is much they can do so going to wait it out and see what happened. I know a few people who have had these and gone on to have healthy babies :)
Thank you, that's really reassuring. So true with the GP! At least from my experience they are useless. Fingers crossed all is well for both of us, all of us!

I have one right now and doctor said it was normal and not to worry about it

When I went for a scan at 6 weeks I was told I had one and not too worry about it as it can be common in early pregnancy, I have my 12 week scan on Thursday so can find out if itās gone! I havenāt had any symptoms with it x
Thank you. Fingers crossed all is good with you and would be very grateful if you could share after the visit.
I actually told my boss today I am pregnant and about the hematoma and she said she had the exact thing with her son (who's now a healthy happy 6yo š)
