I exclusively breastfeed my baby and have never used a pump, is this something I need to do? She’s only a few weeks old and she’s in the 91sf percentile so definitely putting on weight, I’m sure I make enough for her but I haven’t seen anyone or heard from anyone I know that has breastfed and not used a pump. Is it necessary for me to get one and if so do I HAVE to use it or just keep it for emergencies?

My mom nurses me for two years and told me she never used a pump. You don’t HAVE to pump. Maybe get a Medela hand held pump for any emergencies for peace of mind… congrats on the exclusive nursing!!! :) are you going back to work or planning a trip where you’ll be away from her? I’d get that hand held one for emergencies but keep it in the box and maybe you won’t need it.

Absolutely don't have to use one at all. Tbh I think it just complicates things

I don’t pump, I hand express sometimes and have a few bags in the freezer from it. I feed my little one on demand and it’s working great. I avoid pumping so I don’t start overproducing.

I only pump because if I don’t it hurts me and makes baby spit up.

Nope, you don't have to pump. I exclusively breastfed baby and didn't pump. It works just fine.

I feel the pressure to pump from everyone else but love EBF. Stick to your guns mama x
