Anyone else fainting?

Has anyone become prone to fainting in the 2nd trimester? I used to faint regularly when I was around 16 as I was scared of needles and was having lots of blood tests before an operation, but that's not a thing anymore.
Then 3 weeks ago I fainted on the plane not too long after take-off, which I put down to tiredness (I was recovering from sinusitis and had gotten up at 3AM), but this week I fainted (twice in a row!) again at our first parent class. 🙈
We were taken to A&E and all the tests were normal, except that my blood pressure dropped when I fainted (but normal before that). I guess if anyone has had a similar experience, I'm wondering if I've overdone it recently and if resting will put a stop to it, or if it's going to be a thing for the next 3.5 months?

Jep, I've been having lightheadedness and dizzy spells. Only fainted once at work as I managed to sit down quick enough the other times..

I was diagnosed with orthostatic syncope at 16 as I used to pass out a lot and it was because my blood pressure just randomly drops, nothing causes it and there's nothing to prevent it as such, it's calmed down as I've got older but I do pass out quite a bit in pregnancy. Literally my blood pressure randomly drops and then I drop, worse one I was in Costcos God that was embarrassing, just woke up to find everyone staring at me 🤣🤣 I find if I start to feel dizzy, drink and something sugary helps (I keep snacks in my bag) and squatting with my back against something and focusing on one spot. 9 times out of 10 it sorts me out of not at least I'm close to the ground

Oh yeah @Cheryl those are exactly the signs for me too! That's actually the most frustrating bit to me, I recognise the signs and always have time to warn my partner it's going to happen, but nothing I do seems to stop it! There was probably 3 full minutes between the white spots appearing in my field of vision and the actual passing out on Monday, I had time to go sit by the open window for fresh air and to have a bite off a Snickers for sugar, and still ended up passing out. 😂 At least we can take solace in the knowledge that baby is probably totally unaffected, mine was happily kicking away while we were waiting for results in A&E, and the doctors were completely unworried about her. 🥰

But very interesting that although you have a diagnosis, there's no known cause for the drops in blood pressure @Shanice ... I guess that's reassuring in a weird way. I'll definitely try to focus on one spot if there's a next time! And at least you didn't poop your pants in Costco! That's the first thing the midwife doing the parent class asked me about when I came to because it's not uncommon apparently. 🙈

I have POTS so fainting is a regular thing for me anyway but I've noticed that I'm fainting quite a bit more now

I’ve never fainted in my life and I’ve have gone dizzy, eyes blacking out, feeling very weak and hot twice now and always when I’m in public in a shop. To the point I have to sit down and I just burst into tears as I feel like I’m losing control of my body and don’t want to faint

What did A+E recommend, I’ve not had the time to call the doctors yet but I am starting to feel concerned

it's usually down to either a drop in blood pressure or lower blood sugar hun x

@Aleena unfortunately A&E had no helpful advice - this thread has mentioned everything I would try, resting, fresh air, having sugary snacks and water with you, getting closer to the ground so you don't fall, and focusing on something. I've also spoken to all my close friends and family to let them know about it and ask them to sit me down, open a window, get me a snack and water, and keep talking to me if it happens when we're together.
The loss of control is scary, but it sounds like in the end it's more about our bodies trying to cope with all those changes than about something being really wrong. 😊
