Hair dye 🤦‍♀️

So I’m currently pregnant with my first and I’m 4 months. I’ve asked about on different site about if I’m able to dye my hair. I’ve had mixed opinions on what to do. Any advice from you ladies would be most appreciated xoxo

I am a hair colour technician and I worked dyeing people's hair my whole pregnancy plus my own hair. Its pretty old fashioned opinion of older doctors to not use dye now a days. Its worse for the person breathing in the fumes all day, but myself and my son was fine.

I am choosing not to dye my hair during my pregnancy. Although I have done it before I was pregnant, I want to avoid exposing myself and my baby to chemicals during my first pregnancy. However, it's a personal choice with no wrong answer. If you do choose to dye your hair, make sure to do it in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling too many fumes.

I colored my hair during both my pregnancies but switched to a more natural dye (ammonia free and more gentle) I know what you mean. There is a lot of mixed messages about it. Some say to wait until the end of the first trimester. I waited until the second trimester both times.

As a hairdresser I can confirm you absolutely can.
The only way colour will get into your bloodstream is if you have any deep open wounds on your scalp, in which case you probably wouldn’t be colouring your hair anyway!
You should definitely do a patch test first though as pregnancy can alter your sensitivity to some things and be mindful that the colour may take differently due to your hormones x
