Anti sickness tablets

Anyone been prescribed some before? How bad did it get before you asked for some? And how far along did you need to be for them to be safe to consume?

I’m really struggling day in day out with a toddler in tow and hardly eating anything because the nausea feeling is so overwhelming on my body.

I was on them for my first baby. I just felt so weak and nauseous all the time and was sick multiple times a day.

I started them from about 6/7 weeks and was on them at least 10 weeks

did they work and help you to get on with your daily life better?

Unfortunately we were in lockdown so there wasn't much support available but they changed my tablets multiple times to get the ones that really helped. I remember eating lots of toast and plain digestives to help

thanks for this, I’m trying to just ride it out but just thinking about my options in case it doesn’t get better and I really need them 🤞🏻

Hopefully it gets better for you soon 🤞

I started taking anti-sickness at around 6 weeks as I just couldn’t manage. I was still taking them daily at 18 weeks x

I’ve just started taking them yesterday. I’m about 7ish weeks. I had bad nausea in last pregnancy and soldiered through - it was awful but this time it’s in another level. I retched/vomited multiple times yesterday and can’t even drink sips of water though I can eat a little. However having had a few, I wish I’d got them last time rather than suffering. I’ve always worried about risks but there’s so many peip take them and no evidence to suggest problems. If you’re struggling to function I would deffo ring and ask… it doesn’t make you any better or worse for taking them or suffering! I thought I was being strong for holding out last time and I was miserable for 17 weeks.

thankyou both for your responses!

see- last time my nausea went away by about end of 9 weeks and got better quite quickly after that, so it might be the same this time, I’m 7 weeks today so I’m guessing I’ve only got a couple more weeks to handle before I’m back to my old self again, but if it doesn’t get better I shall definitely be ringing the docs for some tablets

I’m not throwing up really, gagged a few times and thrown up once, trying to avoid things that make me feel like throwing up, particularly brushing my teeth (so just using diluted mouthwash for now 🤦🏻‍♀️)

My problem is my eating- I’m hardly having anything which is cos of the nausea!

would you mind sharing which kind you’re taking?

I was sick from morning until night the first 4 1/2 months of my pregnancy, so I completely get it! eating is the ultimate dilemma. I would try to pack a bunch of nutrients into a smoothie and drink a small little cup at a time and hope I’d get some nutrients in. I would literally watch the clock and make sure I didn’t throw up for 30 minutes after eating and then allow myself to just so that I could get some of the nutrients! I’d like to have another child, but I am terrified to go through all of that with a toddler at home. I’m hoping somehow I’ll find encouragement on this app.

I’m taking Prochlorperazine. They gave me cyclizine to start with but it knocked me out lol. So was no good. I still feel sick and have episodes of vomiting but it’s slightly less than without…. Xx
