41+ 1

I’m feeling super overwhelmed with how long this is taking. I thought yesterday it was all going to happen and got super excited! My mum came down ready to be here.

Early hours of yesterday morning I started getting period like pains… my midwife said it looks like I’m ready. I was already booked to have my second sweep with my midwife which went well and I was 1cm dilated! All day I had aches and pain and looked like the start of early labour and my midwife was certainly I would probably be in hospital that evening or today. I started getting contractions from around 7pm all good as they wasn’t painful but it got to 11:30pm and boom they have just stopped had nothing since!

I’m so done with being pregnant now! It’s not been the best experience and I haven’t really enjoyed being pregnant!

Anyone else in the same boat or has been?

Yeah I had prodromal labour with my littlest and when the mucus plug went it took a while to start going. The last month is the worst and I can’t imagine going overdue.
Book something you really want to do so they come earlier and ruin your plans. Worked like a charm for me 😂

Ahh the final days and weeks are the hardest, particularly after 41 weeks.
Try to think of your ‘due date’ as 42 weeks rather than 40. That’s what they do in France apparently!
Your baby knows when to come and sounds like they’re getting ready 🥰
I agree with the above comment, book things in to keep busy.. pedicure, hair appointment, massage, lunch dates, anything you won’t get chance to do once baby is here! 🥰

Yes, had a sweep Wednesday and lots of pains, lost a tonne of mucas/bloody show and then nothing. I have been struggling with the waiting, my son was 10 days early and so straight forward that I had stupidly got it into my head that this one would be the same 😂. I’m booked for another sweep and then induction Thursday (outpatient) and will then be taken in Friday if nothing happens. I have now decided I need a mindset change. So from now on I am just focusing on next weekend because baby will be coming one way or another next weekend at the latest. I’ve been really down/ lazy and tried everything under the sun to get things started but I have now chosen to give up on all the old wives tales and tips and have actually made plans for the next week to keep busy. I feel better about things now and I will be trying to do my best not to think every twinge is labour because I will just assume the baby will be here at 42 weeks - next Saturday. If anything happens earlier then it’s a bonus.
