Weird sleep thing

Ever since my baby was born 5 weeks ago, every time she wakes up in the night I have a moment before I’m fully awake where I think I’m still holding her. So I’m like paralysed by fear of moving and squashing her. Anyone else experienced this?

Oh my god yes I have that too!!! I've never heard anyone else say this.
I can literally feel him in my arms! And then I panic because I can't see where his head is so I'm grabbing at my duvet thinking it's his sleeping bag, until I see him in him next to me.

It's so weird isn't it! Happens nearly every night.

I got this with my first born and I have it again with my twins, sometimes I wake up cradling my pillow thinking it’s a baby until I’m come around and see them in their cot🤦🏼‍♀️ with my first I would even go as far as to think he had somehow gotten out of his cot and ran off so I would frantically go searching for him! I’ve woken up numerous times in a panic thinking that he’s still in my arms and I’ve fallen asleep while feeding. Just to look over and he’s sound asleep in his crib 🙈 The night feeds are wild 😂 x
