Ulcers

I’m in absolute agony and I woke up on Tuesday with loads of ulcers! I don’t think I have ever had them before but have about 10-12 in my mouth. I can’t eat or drink anything and I’m in so much pain. The doctors took a swab today but results won’t be back until Wednesday:( Does anyone know what this could be or what it looks like? I was worried about an STD however the person I was with a few days prior is fine and when I googled it looks more like ulcers rather then cold sores and it’s only in my mouth not around it and it’s not on any other part of my body! I have been doing salt water mouthwashes but I’m currently in tears in so much pain :(
