Maternity ALLOWANCE question 🙋🏼♀️
My little boy is 6 months. I am starting a business which will take off when my Maternity allowance ends BUT I’ve been offered a couple of great opportunities now! My question is has anyone earned extra money or started a business whilst on maternity allowance???
Everything I’m reading says you can do freelance work on SMP, but not Maternity Allowance?? How is that fair first of all😂 but any advice??
Before my mat leave I was working at a supermarket and my leave date for them is the end of May when my mat leave ends.

That’s correct, you can’t earn any money whilst claiming maternity allowance but you can do 10 keeping in touch days
jheeez that’s not fair 😂 I am deffo not doing any keeping in touch days starting at 4am💀😂
Yes, you can’t on MA. That’s because MA is for freelancers (mostly) and they are supposed to stop in that business (except for the KIT days)
