Yes we are 7 weeks post op, thick fluid removed and grommets put in we also had adenoids removed, best decision for us he is still delayed in speech but tries a lot more with words, socialises a lot more with other kids. Not going to lie when they first come around it’s tough seeing them like that (I couldn’t take him down to be put asleep I chickened out send his dad) he said it was awful.. but after 2 hours sleep he was running round like nothing had happened.. good luck with your surgery xxx

@Laura thank you for your message. I’m glad to hear your little boy is doing well. I found out on Friday that they only allow one parent in when they go in for surgery and one parent in the recovery room so we’ve been trying to think who’s best to go in when. I was thinking the same as you, I don’t think I could see him being put under 😢 I’m thinking my husband go in first and then I go into recovery when he comes out. Would you say that was the best way for you or would you do things differently if you had the chance again? I’m so hoping it helps his speech, he gets so frustrated not being able to communicate bless him and I feel he’s just adapted to not being able to hear properly, it will be so nice for him to be able to hear again x

Hiya we had an ENT appt this morning and signed the consent form for my son to have grommets… the doc said we will receive a date soon but couldn’t give me a time frame - how long did you wait for the surgery? Xx

@Freya we went private for the hearing test and they put it through as urgent on the nhs, I think from diagnosis to surgery it will be 9 week wait total for us x

My boy had an op on his testicles at 1 year old and I went down with him to be put under. I thought I was fine with it but I was an utter mess!! I wouldn’t opt for that if he needed anything else!

@Emma wouldn’t opt for what?
