So fucking livid. Told me for ages my situation/claim is too complex and I need to be patient. Only for it to be rejected…I’m so lost. I made a compliant 1st of march because I have no savings left. They didn’t get back to me with any solid resolution just “we will contact you”. Now online the result says a letter will be sent explaining why it’s rejected.
Anyone else struggling with this or has and have advice?
This was a jobseeker claim. I just applied for a Family tax benefit plan this week bc I’m 3months from giving birth and don’t have a lot of faith in centerlink coming through in time.
Currently my partner is supporting everything bc I have had an intense pregnancy. Makes me feel so guilty bc a lot of pressure is on him :(

Call Centrelink and ask to speak to a social worker you should get through before they close today

Oh sorry to hear that 😞 and hope you get answer to way it been rejected

I’m so sorry you’re going through this I know how stressful it is
I had exactly the same problem I had complications and ended up not working almost my entire pregnancy and unfortunately had no luck getting them to reassess and approve my claim
It’s also taken them over a month to finally process my maternity leave payments despite me calling the complaints line 4 times explaining that I couldn’t even afford to buy nappies for my baby
It’s such a broken system 😞 sorry I have no advice for you other than to say you’re not alone
I couldn’t get a hold of anyone who was able to give an answer so I booked an appointment

Yeah that’s good they will probably be able to put it through straight away if your make another claim before the appointment. I work in social work and it works for most of my clients. Also when you apply for parent payment after baby is born make a claim and if it doesn’t go through within a week call the complaints line and they will put it through straight away. Centrelink is annoying sometimes but you just have to work the system out and you’ll get it quicker good luck with the rest of your pregnancy xx

Also if you are renting you would probably be eligible for rent assistance so make sure to check with them at your appointment

Also when it goes through to what do you want to talk about say “speak to a social worker” and nothing else otherwise they just hang up on you

Having the exact same issue, got rejected from all claims due in 6 weeks, partners been rejected from parental leave now too as I’m no eligible ( now you both have to be eligible to claim anything) even though I’m a high risk pregnancy and have letters from doctors and midwives it’s soooo bullshit! So now partner is doing constant over time just so he can take two weeks off when Bub gets here
thankyou for your take!! i will hop on it. Have you heard of the family plan being approved 3months before birth or is it most likely to come after the baby is here
what claims were rejected? Do you know why?? My complications are bc I use to live out the country for 8years up until last year when I moved back. So my claim went to immigration and then next I heard was that it was rejected

Job seeker, parental leave, parenting payment partnered. Partner makes over 80k a year before tax was the reason for rejection from job seeker and parenting payment and parental leave because I haven’t work a min of 12 hours a week since December. Went into Centrelink they said they don’t deal with family claims in person anymore only over the phone, got through the phone they said I’ll just be able to get family tax benefits but wouldn’t give me a figure

In the same boat Centrelink sucks!

Centrelink are rejecting jobseeker payments to people who have partners, when I was pregnant a few months ago and was in the same boat and couldn’t work due to being pregnant they wouldn’t even give me job seeker anymore
really!! Hmmmmn Idk if that’s it with my situation bc my partners income is pre low

I thought the same thing like there was no way my partners income could support us both and pay our rent and all our other bills but Centrelink thought different

U need to apply for partner parent payment not jobseeker x there is a back up of claims atm

Also just had a claim rejected and I’m so frustrated with their appeals process and lack of urgency when it is Centrelink that have made an error.
Claimed for CCS and have since been declined because he hasn’t had his 18mth vaccinations yet (just turned 19mths). He’s had a chest infection so we had to postpone the GP appointment for these vaccination but have rebooked for 2 April.
Centrelink website states there is a 63 day grace period for vaccinations but rather than adhering to their own policies, they declined now I have to go back through the appeals process with no ETA.
I’m paying $663pm just for one day a week. It’s killing our finances!

What was their reason for rejecting your jobseeker !? If your partner is working he may earn too much.

unfortunately you have to be up to date with vaccinations on applying or a medical exemption in place , 63 days is a grace period when you have already been receiving CCS. Or so in told, I did actually contact and manage to get through and they processed my claim then and there !!

thats what they told me when I went in there but I had a copy of their their website under the ‘make a claim’ section which specifically said there was a 63 day grace period. So based on that I assumed I would be fine until his vax appointment date.
She had no idea what I was talking about so had to show her. They’ve lodged an appeal but if it’s not correct they need to update their info. Such a frustrating process.
