For me, pregnancy was about as bad as PMDD, and like above comment I felt like my experience with PMDD prepared me for pregnancy. I hated being pregnant, didn’t feel like myself, and was mostly angry and depressed and in bed for 96% of it when I wasn’t working. I took 50mg Zoloft starting in my second trimester to help, but I still wasn’t feeling great. I can’t imagine how I would have felt without the Zoloft because my first trimester was hell. That being said, I really thought I would end up with postpartum, but here I am 4 weeks post birth and I feel SO much better and am loving newborn life 🥰🩵 hang in there!
@Tori that’s a really weird energy to be bringing when a first time parent asks a question and you didn’t need to give me 4 separate comments you can fit quite a lot of characters in one comment and you are not a doctor you are not my psychologist so the “if you truly have PMDD” was unnecessary and rude af
I have PMDD, and I didn't effect me at all during pregnancy. My mom died when I was pregnant, so I went on Zoloft at that time. Zoloft is safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding, would recommend. Good luck, you got this! <3
I have PMDD. I'm 37 weeks pregnant currently. Honestly having had PMDD since I was like 10 has helped me navigate pregnancy fairly well. I was a bit snippier the first trimester. I was really moody. PMDD symptoms were similar to my pregnancy symptoms. I also made more regular appointments with my therapist in the first trimester to help me out.
