Nursery 😕 I don’t know what to do

So Milo has his first settle in session last week which didnt go very well and he’s supposed to have a 2 hour session today ready for starting next week but the nursery have today emailed me and said they forgot about half term and because we’ve only signed Milo up for term time he won’t be starting until the 12th so a 15 day gaps from todays session and his start date They’ve given me an option to keep the 15 day gap or half todays session to an hour then have an hour next week so there’s only a 7 day gap Is a longer session more important than the gap between session and start date or not? Little bit annoyed that they won’t just let him start next week like it’s been planned for months just as a one of cuz they’ve said they had to staff to do so and I’m willing to pay for it 🤦🏼‍♀️

That is very frustrating and also unprofessional. The gap in my opinion doesn't make a difference. You will have to start from the beginning almost. I had those things in nursery a lot, but due to illness and stuff. I would wait the 15 days and start fresh.

That’s so annoying! Personally, I’d rather have the longer session, I feel like an hour goes so quickly, would be good to see how he gets on being on his own for longer. But either way, I guess he’s still going to start nursery regardless of how he does, so do what works for you.

I think more shorter sessions is better than fewer longer ones 😊 I think if there’s too much of a gap they don’t build up their level of comfort there in the same way. Also our nursery said it’s good for babies to get used to parents going away and coming back which they get more practice at with more sessions

Thanks ladies! Luckily after a long conversation with the nursery they’ve agreed as a one of he can still start next week 😅
