Gift/Card from work for Maternity leave

I got nothing. Like nothing at at all.

I didn’t get anything on my last day, but once I’d had baby they sent out a card, gift voucher & some flowers

I think it depends in your team and the kind of relationship. Are you guys in the habit of giving gifts to members? We usually make contributions to gey gifts for colleagues for big events like weddings, retirement and stuff. So i got a gift basket with baby clothes, diapers and pamper set

I didn’t get anything 😂 My boss’s wife did stop by with a babygrow and teddy though, but that was more from him and her then everyone x

My work threw me a baby shower and I got basically everything on my registry. 🥰

I know they did a collection for me but I’m 6 months into my mat leave and my manager never gave it to me.. I’m too awkward to say anything 😬

Usually at my job we throw a mini baby shower at work with cake and give money that we collect from everyone. We even do it for the dads.

I had a card from work but also presents and cards from lots of people at work who I’m actually friends with! Husbands work sent flowers after birth and gave us a card and gift card for our son to use at John Lewis.

My co workers all pitched in and got me $300 gift card

I got a gift voucher on my last day and when baby arrived I got a card and flowers

I worked for a big occupational therapy team and we would always whip round and get a mum voucher / or food voucher.

Nothing. A couple of colleagues bought a present but outside of that nothing. I think it has a lot to do with wfh to be honest. In the office I imagine it’d have been a whole thing but wfh I basically just closed my laptop 😂

We go out for lunch with the team and do a collection for money and flowers.

I didn’t get anything on my last day. My boss didn’t even say goodbye actually 😂 I didn’t want a fuss though as I’d lost a baby previously so was very anxious. Once our daughter was born they sent us a gift voucher and card and then my partner got given gifts by a few people at work (we work together).

I got a voucher for love shop or whatever it’s called, a voucher for Cook and some baby bits but my manager had just come back from Mat leave so was sympathetic! Also we get on really well

With my first my work gave me a baby shower 🥹 cards from all departments and then a collection went round and I got a night chair, baby gym, some clothes for baby and then some pamper sets for me! We all got to sit and eat cake and it was lovely! I highly doubt I’ll get the same treatment this time as it’s baby number 2 😂

My work gave me £50 and my manager gave me a little outfit and her mum had knitted me cardigans. Was very thoughtful! I can’t believe they never even gave you a little card or something x

With my first baby I got a card signed by everyone and a couple of gifts for baby given to me on my last day before mat leave - my line manager at the time had small children herself though so knew what to buy. Second baby in a different job and I haven't had anything (starting my mat leave today) but expect they will do a card when baby actually arrives - I think it's a workplace culture thing, some do and some don't.

Nothing - I just left on a Friday like normal to start mat leave from the following Monday and no one said a word 🤡

I did quite well, I really wasn’t expecting to get no where near what I did. I work in a team mainly men, there’s only 2 other women. On my last day I got a basket of all pamper bits for me. Then clothes, teddies, photo frame and baby book and a voucher. One of my colleague made a cake which was nice to finished my last day

I got absolutely nothing from work 🙄

I got card, flowers and cash from my colleagues when baby arrived. Nothing when I finished which I didn't think seemed unusual x

Nothing but I work in a male industry ( engineering.) I did get a gift hamper of baby clothes when my daughter was born

From some co workers I got given presents for baby but management I got nothing not even a card, apparently our new manager doesn’t do that kind of thing as it’s shown as favouritism.

I got a card, £50 gift card and a bottle of non alcoholic wine from my bosses but nothing off the other girls I work with apart from one colleague got me a card and baby blanket (Which I wasn’t expecting anything from anyone anyway) x

It was a new job of like 5 months as i joined pregnant and still got a card signed by staff and a couple little gifts (totally uexpected) but appreciated. But its quite a close knit team/office so i guess it might have seemed weird/to obvious to not do anything for me, I dont know 🤷🏼‍♀️. It was my 2nd baby also.

I got flowers from the senior leaders on my last day and from my team I got a card and a gift card

I’m a supervisor and my staff threw me a little baby shower.

My work threw me a mini baby shower and got me a tommee tippee dreamee baby monitor set x

I had a work baby shower and gifts from colleagues and then the company gave me a while company hamper and vouchers. My ceo and other board members gave me gifts after baby arrived. I was very spoilt - doesn’t happen with the second 😂😂

I got a card and an awkward little speech thing. Then I got sweet presents once baby arrived and I've had presents every month since - my colleagues are very thoughtful. Last time I was on maternity leave they bought me a subscription for a years worth of flowers - it was lovely!

I didn't get anything. They're not obliged to give you anything so I'm not sure why people expect them to...

@Rhiannon I didn’t expect them too :) but I work for a lovely place, have done for a long time and it’s what you do for valued members of staff and friends 😊

I got a few things for the baby on my last day and a good luck card from my team. Then when he arrived a few team members bought outfits individually x
