poop pic tmi sorry in advance

ladies I’m at a complete loss. My little girl is 10 weeks, she initially was breast fed but she was constantly wanting to feed so we switched her to formula. We started her on Aptamil but she was extremely gassy, had diarrhoea, had a lot of stomach pain and was completely unsettled. We spot to her GP and 2 health visitors who were a waste of time and offered little to no help except advised her digestive system might just be immature? we swapped her formula to kendamil to see if that made any difference as we thought maybe the aptamil might just be too rich for her. She’s not gassy and seem ok generally within herself but her nappies are still really really bad and smell horrific (see pic). I’m at a complete loss and don’t really know what to do now. I was thinking maybe she’s got some sort of intolerance but I don’t know where to turn for advice. Has anybody else experienced any of this with there little ones and can help please?

If I’m honest this is what a 10 weeks old nappy looks like I remember it going from the thick black to a korma look alike I remebeer being told that this is absolutely normal is she still having pains etc if not you have nothing to worry about. X

@Mollie-Mae she doesn’t seem to be having pains anymore which is great. I was just really worried because her poo is literally explosive and smells like she’s got a poorly stomach if that makes sense x

You need to give it 2 weeks for her body to get used to new formula. That might just be her body getting used to the new formula and getting rid of the old formula x

Completely different but we went from pre made cow and gate (in hospital for a week) and when we got home we did the powder and it took a while for my little boy to adjust to that, (really horrific wind and poo) even though it’s more or less the same there are some differences. At one point I thought he had an intolerance!! It can take about two weeks for it to get through the digestive system. So if you think about it baby had a switch from breast milk to formula, so baby’s system would need to get used to that and then another change in forumla the system would need to adjust if that makes any sense? I’m not a professional in anyway but just from the kind of things they told me! And actually that poo generally looks like a forumla poo. It’s such a worry but You’re doing amazing !!!! Xx

My 8 week olds formula poo looks the same and she’s been on the same formula from birth. Have been reassured it’s normal 😊

From the picture it's totally normal and most people report that kendamil causes stinky poop if she is settled I'm between feeds , isn't overly gassy I wouldn't be concerned at all x

Looks like a kendapoop!!!

@Lauren 😂😂😂

You could also try introducing an infant probiotic!

Baby poop is normal to go from yellow and green. My 2yr old had awful green poop when she was a baby. Went to doctors and hospitals under consultants to check for allergies…. We went through a range of formulas thinking she has a CMPA …. She didn’t. Her tummy was just immature. If your little one is settled between feeds and seems happy and content then I really wouldn’t worry.

My lo has been on kendamil since birth and these are what her nappies look like. It’s a lot richer and thicker than other formulars but my lo loves it and won’t take anything else lol x

looks like normal poop to me. Young babies poop is explosive lol mine shot at me from across the room once

@Charlotte my little one is obsessed with it, it’s gold to her but my gosh the smell of her nappies make me gag 😂

@Helen 🤣🤣 I no exactly what you mean… there’s nothing like it is there 🤢

This happened to us. My baby is 5 months old now and I honestly believe it's their body adjusting. The smell does calm down, it will not always be this bad 🤣 but if you are switching to different formulas their bodies will need to adjust and take time for the previous formula to fully leave the system and get on track with the new

How long has she been on the new formula? May just need a little bit more time in order to adjust. If still having lots of issues speak to a paediatrician or try a non cows based formula ie the brand sprouts or another plant based one
