Induction turned into C-Section?

How many moms here have had a date to be induced and it turned into a C-section? I have been given a date to be induced for next week but ive heard a lot of women who go into a planed induction turned into an unplanned C-section??

Yep, that was my case but not necessarily your case, I didn’t dilate you might get through it and have a vaginal birth, I have a few friends who had that happen, just go in with an open mind, as long as you and baby are safe it will be good 😊

I was induced at 40 + 2 days due to advanced maternal age. Mine turned into a C section due to some sudden bleeding that turned out to be placental rupture, but I suspect it was due to the placement of my placenta. One ultrasound at 33 weeks had marked it as being too close to the cervix, but a follow-up had "confirmed" that it was in fact more than 20 mm away and therefore safe for vaginal birth. My thought is that the placenta was in fact too close after all, and that the onset of labour, contractions, and dilation triggered it to rupture. My c section experience was positive, though, and bean is a happy, healthy 4 month old girl!

I did it was more due to babies position though x

That can happen yes. I was induced and was nervous for that reason. However, I was one of the “rare ones” as my midwife said because it actually worked for me and I did have a vaginal birth although I did have to have an episiotomy.

I had an induction and had a vaginal birth. A lot of it is due to a lot of babies not being ready to come, hence the induction. I had the pessary, 2 rounds of gel and only on the last lot of gel did I start to dilate. If I hadn't have dilated, it probably would have been a c section x

Went in at 37 weeks for an induction. Was in for 5 days but induction failed so C-section at 37+5. It was a really positive experience even with the c section and I wouldn’t of had it any other way now 😊

Mine did yes, and it’s a good job I did as my baby went from being engaged to being breech due to distress. All a big shambles honestly. I saw a poll earlier asking the same thing, and I saw a lot of positive stories, so good luck 🩷

It all depends how your induction goes, I went in on the 19th and had a failed induction along with other problems turned into a c section

That is what happened to me literally exactly what happened to me as I couldn’t dilate I couldn’t go past 2cm but I was getting pains like I was 9cm

Yes. Induced at 41+5 but didn't dilate and baby was in distress so ended up having a c section and baby was born at 42 weeks. The recovery time wasn't as long as thought it would be though, and although nothing went to plan, the overall experience was positive. Best of luck 😊

I did, but it's because I stalled at a 4 for 13 hours. When my doctor got into my uterus, she found that his head was kinked to the side, so he couldn't have come down or out. My pelvis also might have been too narrow, but it's unclear if that's because of his position or my anatomy.

I’ve been induced twice and neither ended in c section x

Yep, this happened with me. Went in for induction at 38 + 4 because of reduced fetal movements, I didn’t dilate after 3 induction methods and so baby was born by emergency c-section at 39 weeks exactly.

I had a planned induction and went on to have a very straight forward vaginal birth. I was in and out of hospital within 24 hours. I had a wonderful experience! Good Luck💗
