Postpartum must haves for hospital

Please could you tell me what you are packing or if you’ve given birth before, what was essential while in hospital. There are so many items I’ve seen like the Frida mom recovery kits but is it all really needed? TIA

You don't need to buy anything for postpartum but big knickers if you don't have them already, maternity pads and a pair of crocs for the ward/showers 😅 If you have a c-section then silicone patches for the incision. If you get tears, sitz bath, peri bottle and/or numbing spray can help with the discomfort. You can buy those for next day delivery afterwards when you know you'll def need them though. All the kits have stuff in you're unlikely to use, and a huge markup to take advantage of the baby nerves/excitement. Take in whatever your home comforts are. From my first I learnt that I should pack butter because the hospital only had marg and I love butter 😅 simple things like the right food and drink, comfortable clothes that you feel good in and so on will transform the postpartum experience the most.

Your own pillow and blanket, Like Holly said, whatever makes you feel comfortable. Big pants baggy clothes, flip flops

I gave birth 11 and 16 years ago and none of these products really existed. The only thing you really need after birth is big knickers and maternity pads, some fresh clothes and some toiletries for a shower. When I got home I had a shallow warm bath for 10-15 mins each day with a few drops of lavender or tea tree oil in it. X
