Hi, new mama to be here ( god-willing), looking to switch over my toxic household, body and skincare products over to some pregnant safe versions.

Anyone have any brands they recommend for beginners that are cost effective? Sunscreen, body wash, body oil, etc recommendations? Would appreciate it 😊

House hold cleaners and what not branch basics is great

Zinc oxide for sunscreen is safe and accessible on line and in some natural food stores

I love buying my non-toxic products off Grove! You can also make your own cleaning products that are way more cost effective!

Download the Yuka app and go down to your local store! It let's you scan barcodes and tells you if it contains toxic ingredients. I did this at my local cvs bc they take alot of coupons lol

I use peroxide OR vinegar depending on what I'm cleaning. Chagrin Valley Soap for shampoo bars & regular soap bars. Myself & kids all have fair skin but we use badger sunscreen very very sparingly. We avoid midday sun & build a base tan along with using sunshirts & hats. For body products I typically stick to very simple & minimal ingredients- tallow, shea butter, jojoba oil.

Primally Pure for skincare!

I'll message you! I shop at an online wellness store and it's affordable and everything works well. I made the switch to nontox products a few years ago too.

a second vote for branch basics for household cleaner!

I second using Yuka- it’s great for when you are at the store. But it isn’t definite for pregnancy safe options. For sunscreen, you want a mineral sunscreen. I love attitude brand body wash and baby laundry detergent. Honest for baby body wash. Kosas brand for makeup. Dapple for baby dish soap. It can be very overwhelming to make a hard switch so take it one thing at a time. @thenaturalmindedmomma on insta has some good posts on nontoxic swaps.
