Walking

So my little boy is 16 months and has literally just started walking past few days. Up until then he has been using his Walker for months and can practically run with it. He only seems to walk between me and his dad and won’t any other time he just prefers his Walker. Is it mean of us to take away his Walker so he walks on his own or just leave him with it and try and get him to walk without it? Whenever we say shall we walk he shakes his head

Show your support

Have you tried walking alongside him holding his hands? My little girl randomly started using her walker after showing no interest for so long. Then we progressed to hand holding and then she had confidence to walk outside whilst holding one hand and we decided to get some Pre-Walkers to support. We got the prewalkers a week ago today and yesterday she started walking unaided consistently not just short distance between me and her dad. I definitely think building up helped her confidence but I personally wouldn’t take her walker away even now as it’s what she was comfortable with, built strength with and wouldn’t want to set her back if that makes sense? He will get there and is massively on the right track! X

I wouldn’t do anything, he’ll get there when he’s ready!
