We have a qashqai as our "put everything in to go on holiday etc" car. It has a pretty big boot but I don't really like the car, crappie visibility. I love my yaris, it did the job with one rear facing child and a pram. Just no room for our massive dogs!
Absolutely has to be an estate car. We tried SO many different cars during our pregnancy and it was the only type of vehicle that gave space for driver to have their seat all the way back + rear facing seat behind them and ample space in the boot with a buggy. Also, a lot of buggies fit vertically in the boot which then leaves you soooo much space for shopping, other baby bits, holiday travel stuff etc. I’d recommend going to try different cars out with all your gear and seeing what you can fit. You’d may be surprised that a lot of the SUVs are actually based on hatchback chassis, just higher up, so actually not a huge amount of space… xxx
Mazda CX5. The best family car! So reliable and spacious. My bf has a Mercedes GLS and admits mine is so much better!
We have a Kia sportage quite an old model (2013) as couldn’t spend more than 7k but the boot is plenty big enough for our pram plus more
We have a Hyundai Bayon, lots of room, boot is a great size too. We used to drive a Susuki Swift when baby was first born, it was actually like tetris trying to fit the 3 of us in the car with his pram 🤣
We have a Hyundai Santa Fe and love it. So much space and can be 7 seats if you need them too
I've just bought the Audi Q3 (2016) perfect size for buggy and lots of room in the back for child seat.
@EJ after reading all the recommendations and testing out different cars today we agree on the verdict of estate cars! Bought a volvo v60 and as much as it's a bit more than i wanted to go, it really does meet all our needs. Thank you so much xx
I’ve just switched to the Peugeot 3008 17 plate and it’s lovely inside and the boot is fabulous for our dog and pram
Amazing 😍 Glad you’ve managed to find something that you’re happy with ❤️ SUVs are trendy but not all that spacious for mountains of baby stuff 😅 Plus it means you can get a better car for the same money in an estate car vs SUV as they’re less popular xx
We have a Hyundai Tucson, got it not long before he was born as we had a 3 door fiesta haha! We love it, lots of space ☺️ We’re leasing it for three years!
