Threw up glucose drink

Unfortunately I think they usually have you try again. Maybe ask about nausea meds before?

i’ll ask im waiting for my OB to get in contact. i know how important the test is but i know i will throw it up again. i didnt throw up the 1 hr one so idk what happened 😭 i feel like a failure

The three hour one is harder for many moms! If you end up throwing up again they may have you do testing your blood sugars at home 4x a day. It’s not as good of a test as the glucola but it’s better than nothing. Hopefully this was a once off and you’ll be clear for the 3 hour!

My OB told me that if I threw it up, I would have to do the test over again 😕

Yeah I have my 3 hour one coming up, but they expect me not to even drink water for 11 hours. Thats not happening. I will be drinking water. I’ve almost passed out too many times from this nonsense, I will be drinking water before and in between.

You redo it with a different mg of the glucose in it. Usually the 3 hr is 100mg if I remember correctly so you'll probably redo it with the 75mg

say whaaaaaaaaaat mine pushed water before during and after. That's crazy. I'm sorry yours is anti water

oh I don’t care what they say, I’m definitely drinking water. That is absolutely absurd.

I actually did my 1hr fasting, worked so hard at not throwing up did it& they took the blood I guess I just went to the store with out thinking and suddenly I was hot and sweating shaking in the middle of the store, I had to run to my car for a snack and AC so I didn’t pass out ugh it was awful

yeah unfortunately they called and said i had to redo it but theyre giving me zofran to take before hand :( i hope it works :( i get so sick on an empty stomach already so to get that drink down in 5 minutes on an empty stomach was already hard for me :/ (i had to fast)

Yeah they’re just gonna have to get mad at me. They’re petty in everything they do anyways, so I honestly have had enough of it, and I’m going to drink my damn water.

exactly! There’s gotta be better ways to go about this. It’s not fair honestly and they make such a big deal out of everything.

With my first child I threw up every time! they made me come back and keep trying the other flavors with no luck. Eventually they let me replace the drink with Twizzlers. I had to bring my own Twizzlers (I forget if it was 10 or 20) and they timed that I ate them in the waiting room within 5 minutes. I then passed the 3 hour glucose test. I have not eaten Twizzlers since, but I’m hoping they let me go straight to the Twizzler version for this pregnancy!
