We got one as a gift. So far my son likes taking the 2 Tonies we have on and off and sticking them to each other (magnets). He doesn’t really pay attention to the songs/stories, but maybe when he gets older. A friend said her older son really likes it and they use the nature sounds one for bed time (but we have a sound machine for that 🤷🏼‍♀️).

my son got one for Christmas, and absolutely loves it. Like above he likes to take them on and off but he has about 6 now and rotates between them , the one with nursery rhymes he really likes. I think it’s a good investment because it grows with them and it’s the characters are an easy gift for any occasion

We have a Yoto and love it! I like that the stories/playlists are on cards the same size as credit cards so it’s easier to store. Our little mostly enjoys music at the moment, but I think it’ll grow with her to a higher reading level than the tonies would. We mostly do “make your own” cards, and use sticker paper on the front so she can tell what the card is!

My daughter loves her Tonie box. At first we didn’t think she did but that was because the box and figures were always buried in all the toys. Now that we have it on a shelf it’s her go to toy. She is familiar with the characters and loves singing along. If you were to buy one my advice would be to bundle and research your figures before buying them. Especially if your l/o prefers music, you can scan the QR code on them to pull up the track list. Also note the voices are not the exact ones from the movies, some are similar and others you can definitely tell. The figures can be pricey.

Check out your public library, our library has boxes and figures to rent for 2 weeks at a time. Our son has liked the music enough that we bought the box but I am very happy we can rent the figures at the library.

I didn't know they were a thing until I saw this post. Now my son is getting one for his birthday

I think the cool part is that it's character specific, and you can also make your own figures. It gives your child some control over what's being played without you having to worry that they're putting something on that they shouldn't. And a bonus: it's soft and hard to break, with no screen!
