I can’t get my baby to show her face! I’ve literally tried everything… sugary foods/drinks, exercise, repositioning and nothing. I’m going to see a specialist soon since I’m going in for the fourth time. My doctor hasn’t been able to get clear scans because she won’t move her hands, in every shot her hand is covering her face. If she isn’t covering her face, she’ll twist and turn and show her back. She moves a lot during the scans, but won’t turn the “right way”. As much as I love going in to see her weekly, I’d also love to get some clear scans of her. Does anyone have any suggestions? My doctor wants to try one more time before sending me to a specialist.

Have you tried cold orange juice? About 30 minutes to an hour before appointment? Someone on here suggested that to me when my baby wouldn’t move. And I tried it, sure enough he moved. A little too much though

I don’t have any advice. My daughter was the same! Went into the anatomy scan 3x cause they couldn’t get certain photos. The tech had me switch the side I was laying on so baby would uncurl from the nook of my womb that she loved to be in and she (didn’t uncurl like the tech thought she would) literally just slid and put her hands out so she didn’t hit the other side of my uterus! The tech giggled and said it normally worked!
Then she just ended up lunging and pushing on my stomach sideways pretty hard to get her photos. It was not fun
I had an anterior placenta, so even when we went in for the 3D ultrasound we couldn’t really get good photos cause either the placenta shadowed on her face OR she crawled up into a ball and wouldn’t come out of my back side! Tech literally had me running up and down the hallways, skipping, jumping jacks in the bathroom, chocolate bar, nothin!! 😂
Baby is now almost 12m & always been stubborn, it’s her way or the highway. So good luck! Lol 🙈

I found love hearts worked for me every time 😂

No I actually haven’t, that’s a great idea. I’m been craving everything fruit, so that just might work. Thanks so much!

No way, our babies sound just alike! She’s literally been doing the exact same, all techs that have tried apologize profusely because they’re always nudging and pushing my belly. All of them have laughed too because she’s completely unfazed by it all lol.
One of the techs said she was the most stubborn babies she’s ever dealt with. All of them have been in disbelief with how much she doesn’t want to be seen. She has her little spot she’s comfortable in and just doesn’t seem to want to move out of it.
So it seems like it is a personality thing. I was worried I’ll have a little diva on my hands 😂. Thanks for the well wishes, I’m sure your princess is still supplying lots of laughter. Excited to see how this plays out lol.

Totally, going to try those! I’ve always loved them, hopefully she will too 😂

Some babies just get too comfy! With you already trying sugary drinks etc I’d probably recommend a big ice cold drink about 15/20 mins before your scan, side stepping up stairs, if your comfortable to do so & depending how many weeks you are, go on all fours and sway from side to side, get your partner/family to touch your tummy and speak to them, giving them a little poke here and there! Xx

That’s also a great idea, haven’t thought about doing something cold. Have been loving everything iced. Going to try the steps as well, my partner and my family have been trying to give her a pep talk before going in but I’ll try that as well. Thanks so much!

Had a similar experience with my anatomy scan. I had to turn many ways and had 3 follow ups. They would catch the heart on the screen for a few min then couldn’t get the picture. At the end the doctor put on my scan it was visible and looked good and couldn’t get it. Unfortunately these babies be stuck in they ways.

My baby does the same. Next week is my third anatomy scan because either she won’t flip or flips a way that covers the part the doctor wants to take a picture of. I tried jumping jacks and water and stretching and she’s still stubborn. The other time she was holding her foot 🤣. I think girl babies are more stubborn

You’re definitely right, I can see that already. I’m dealing with the same thing which is why I might go to a specialist. Glad to hear it isn’t as abnormal as I thought it was lol

Definitely a girl thing! That’s too funny, my baby has been doing the same. She even had a legs crossed lol, I guess it’s apart of the journey. Too funny, wishing you luck! Seems like we’re working on their time 😂🥰

thank you! Good luck to you too
