I am at a loss. I don't know what to do or where to start. My lo just will not sleep without me next to him at night. Even naps in the day are half hour if that! We have a good night time routine. I can't stand to leave him to "cry it out'as he just gets so upset and sounds like he's going to throw up. Any advice welcome please

I didnt do cry it out with my girl but I did leave her for 5/10 minutes and return to check on her & comfort her and repeat this until she falls asleep. Its tough at first and can take a while of repeatedly checking on them but after a while it will get easier and your little one will know you will always come back for him if he needs it and eventually after persevering with this he should be able to fall asleep on his own comfortably xx
@Poppy how long did it take the 1st night you did this? X

I think I went in about 7 times over the night and then she fell asleep. It gradually got less and after about 2 weeks Id do her bedtime routine, put her down still awake and she would settle herself. I woukdnt be surprised if it takes you slightly longer though as my girl was a bit younger when I started this she was 14 months xx

My son is the same way but it has been more difficult lately. There is an 18 month old sleep regression and it can last for awhile
🙈 not another regression 😆 have you tried anything different to get your son down on his own? X
