Anyone else counting down the weeks til you can take maternity leave already?

Honestly, I am wishing the weeks away already! Having worked full time solidly for nearly 20 years, I’m desperate for a change 🤣

Curious to know when you ladies are thinking of starting your leave if you have office/desk jobs?

I was the same with my first 😅 working full time from age 17 to when i had him at 35!! It was wonderful. I have an office job and i wanted more time off with baby than mat leave before he was here so i worked upto a week before my due date then took 4wks hol before mat leave offically started.

I’m so envious of maternity leave 😫 I run a small business with employees so it’s difficult to step away in some capacity so I’m kinda nervous for the first year.

My husband is going to get shared parental as he is employed so that I can try to have most of the first month off as much as possible and then go part time for the early months. It’s going to be an interesting time for sure, I’m just happy I can work from home so at least I can look tired from behind a screen haha 🤣

I’d be interested if anyone has been in the same position to see how they managed this! X

I'm having a planned c-section and I plan to work as late as they'll let me. I want maximum time with baby!

This is my second pregnancy (I’m actually going back from Mat leave this week😂) with my first I worked up until 36 weeks took two weeks of annual leave and then started Mat leave at 38 weeks and had my daughter at 39. If you want maximum time off with the baby but also want time to relax before baby gets here I’d recommend saving as much leave as you can x

@Dace i loved the time with my baby BUT i also love being back in work and earning properly again, i had a year off and it was great to be in adult company again for a whole day 😅😅
You'll just have to venture out alot like i did, I'm not very good at staying home.

Yeah I can’t wait for maternity leave specially now that we are very busy 🤣 I am planning to take it when I will be 37 weeks pregnant but I have annual leave that will be using during the year so I can work 4 days a week instead 😁
