Does anyone have any examples of their birth plans? I don’t have a strict one I would like to follow however there are a few things I’d like to do/try. I didn’t realise the midwives like it written down, I was just going to go with the flow.
Also, I’m hoping to have a water birth with skin to skin after. Can I request to get out of the pool to have the skin to skin or is it best to have it straight away in the pool? Sorry if that sounds silly 🤦🏼♀️🤣

You might find yourself naturally pulling the baby up to you for skin to skin as soon as they’re born. Dont forget the cord will still be attached so it might be more comfortable to wait until it’s cut before you get out of the water (although I’m not sure coz Ive not had a baby before). I think they like you to be out to deliver the placenta and breastfeeding helps induce contractions for that (if you’re planning on BF) so my plan is to do skin to skin in the water and then outside the water too 🥰
I’m going to hospital today to help get my birth plan sorted (I’m a trauma case) so I can let you know what type of things they put on it when it’s done xx

With my first I had been told that it was important to have a birth plan, then when I got to the hospital I had to ask them if they wanted to read it. They weren’t really bothered.
It pretty much just said ‘You are the professionals, do what you need to in order to get the baby out safely and keep me alive’.
My next one will be the same. Birth plans tend to get thrown out of the window when you are in actual labour.

I think they might ask you to get out of the pool anyway for delivering the placenta but not sure x

A birth plan is for you to also put everything down that you want and don't want to happen so when you are in labour you do t have to worry about trying to make decisions and can just focus on your breathing and birthing.
If you message me I can send you mine, I plan on having a home water birth. :)

Have a look at the template on the NHS website. I found this very useful in terms of identifying key preferences

My birth plan-
Gas and Air - get him out 😅
If I need more then diamorphine
That's all I've got.
I've never done this before...dont really know what I'm doing, but I'm just hoping for the best and expecting everything to just not go planned if I had made a proper plan. Just hoping for the best. So nervous. Due in a week
