Does anyone have any tips for bottle aversion please? Do I try a completely different bottle or formula etc? I think I have caused this by constantly encourage my LO to feed. Now she has been one even worse and sometimes screaming at feeds.

Sorry you’re going through this. Do you exclusively bottle feed? Could you try adjusting the teat size to see if this will help? X
thank you yes we exclusively formula feed now. We did try a faster flow teat the other week but her daily intake didn’t increase and she seemed to be gulping

Oh bless you!! How old is your little one? 3 months is a notorious fussy period for feeding.
Have you tried feeding when she’s still drowsy from a sleep?
It could be worth trialling a different bottle because I can imagine it’s so so difficult to have this every feed
she’s 3.5 months. She’s always been a grazer and not a hungry baby but this is just awful! We use Dr Brown but have tried MAM and Tommee Tippee over the last few days and they haven’t made a difference. Perhaps we’ll try the teat size again 😕

I really hope you have some success! I’m sure it’s just a phase xx
thank you so much 😊

When you say aversion do you mean not finishing a bottle or just pushing it away or screaming etc?
before she even takes a sip she’ll scream when the teat goes into her mouth. We’ve been pausing, putting her dummy in to calm her down and then trying again

Okay so you need to break the association with the bottle/feeding- try a totally different feeding position for example propped up on cushions instead of cradled. Dont do anything to ‘encourage’ her like wiggling the bottle etc- offer twice only and if she wont take it just end the feed. She should start to build up trust again- I know its sooo hard at the start but it will get better!
thank you so much!!

What was the outcome please? How did you manage this?
