So I’ll collect let down during feedings and I usually only get about an ounce, if that, at a time. If I collect those little bits throughout the day and put them in the fridge can they be mixed and go in the freezer in the evening?

Yes, just be aware though that sometimes let down contains higher amounts of foremilk and therefor less fat content/ more water. Sometimes too much of this can cause upset in babies stomach. It’s not really a big deal but our baby was struggling with weight gain so I always tried to have some fatty hind milk to mix with it. As far as sanitation goes though you should be totally fine to do that.

Oh, I didn’t know that! Thank you so much!
Can i ask, how did you specially collect more fatty milk? Just through regular pumping or?

if you pump after a feed normally that milk is going to have a higher fat content, but you have to be careful with this if you already have an oversupply. It doesn’t hurt for me since I only do it twice a day and it helps me build a bit of a freezer stash.

Thank you so so much! I’m slightly sad now, I’ve wasted so much milk because I didn’t think I could mix and freeze after it had been in the fridge all day🥲

Aw dang! I keep mine for up to 3-4 days mix it together and then freeze it. Once you thaw any milk from the freezer though it’s only good for 24 hours. So sorry you dumped milk! Hopefully you can regrow your stash 🫶 pumping after the first morning feed really helps us build up a little

Man, see all I’ve ever been told is that it can only be in the fridge for barely a day and then it has to be frozen by the end of the day if we’re gonna use it for feedings!
I’ve been working on rebuilding our supply since then though, thankfully it’s replenishing somewhat quickly😅
