So I'm struggling with what to do about my baby girls last name. I was married, and my husband passed away, and I have his last name. But I ended up pregnant with a guy I was dating after that. I don't think he's going to be involved much, and I wanted to not give my daughter his last name. But it feels wrong to give the baby my husband's last name. However, my previous maiden name is long and hard for most people to pronounce.
I have considered changing my last name back to my maiden name, but I really like how simple the last name is that i have now. I know this is super complicated, but do you ladies have any suggestions?

Do what makes you happy 😊. It's your last name currently so you can definitely give it to her regardless of the circumstance. I definitely would not go with the biological dads simply because you don't want to and y'all aren't married.

I think your daughter will appreciate having the same last name as you in the long run

I would give her your last name. I have my mothers maiden last name, and I’m so glad she did that instead of giving me my fathers last name! I do appreciate it even still 20 years later lol
