Need a good comeback
MIL and I are not speaking right now as I’ve put up a boundary that if she continues to speak to me in the ways she has over the past 4 years I will not be around.
Her go to comment to my husband is “I can’t change the way I am, and will not walk on egg shells around your wife”.
I need a good comeback to “I can’t change the way I am”
Everyone else in the family just accepts her rudeness as that’s the way she is. I will not accept her disrespect any longer.

"You've made this much easier, if like you've said you can't change lll be removing myself indefinitely." You really don't need a clever comeback just hold the boundary otherwise you'll be playing it to her game
I told my husband I’d sit down and have 1 more conversation with her. If she makes a bunch of excuses and doesn’t take accountability I’m done. But I really want a sassy comeback. I’m so done being the bigger person. 🙄😖

Urgh what is wrong with these MILs?!? We tread on egg shells because of their rudeness but then they feel like they will be treading on egg shells by being asked to treat us with an ounce of respect 🙄
Sometimes removing yourself from these situations is the best thing sadly. Since having my little girl I’ve been keeping my distance as much as possible as I don’t want to put up with it anymore either xx
