Sick little one

My little girl has been perfectly healthy for 6 months, but since she started daycare about a month ago she has been constantly sick. She just got over one cold now starting to get another and has a fever as well. I am working full time but trying to keep pumping to give her breast milk since we learned it can help her immune system. But it seems like that did not work and feeling a bit discouraged that I can’t help her. Her pediatrician recommended infant Tylenol which she is on to help her fever. Any advice on things I could do to help her feel more comfortable? Any suggestions to help boost her immune system that others feel has helped their baby?

OH, it's so hard when they start! Unfortunately, you will come up with a lot of sickness, but it does eventually get better! Baths, steam room, water, humidifier can all help depending on her symptoms. Then use Tylenol or ibuprofen to help with fever or pain.
Make sure they're getting fruit and vitamins! It's a tough stage to go through, but it usually happens either now or later.Hang in there!

Try rotating Tylenol and ibuprofen to break the fever. Eucalyptus baths and using a humidifier during bedtime can help make her more comfortable. I also use zarbees or Burts bees chest rub whenever my kids get sick. Also, elderberry is great for boosting the immune system

Agree with all of the above recommendations. My daughter was in daycare full time starting at 12 weeks. I exclusively pumped until she turned one but she was still constantly sick for that first year. It’s unfortunately just the reality of daycare. It gets a little better once they get past the age of putting everything in their mouths, so sometime after 1. The daycare also makes a difference. We switched her into a new daycare around 18 months and immediately noticed a difference. They were much more intentional about washing hands. We could tell with the first one they weren’t being intentional about cleanliness because she always came home filthy. But if that’s not a concern, the best you can do is ride it out and treat the symptoms. Shower steam or cold air from the freezer will help with a cough and keeping her nose clear with the Frida mom tools will help get her asleep and hopefully stay asleep longer.

Yes I’ve heard that too that she will either get sick now in daycare or once she starts preschool if she stayed home but so tough to see her not feeling well 😞 Thanks for the great suggestions I think I will definitely try a warm bath for her and look into getting humidifier and the vitamins/elderberry!

I always had to give both Tylenol and Motrin to break my childs’ fevers. They were the worst. Humidifier helps a lot too, and chest rub!

Not sure where you are but where I live (I know different countries have different brands of kids pain relief). Is Dymodan and ibuprofen.
Warm baths, if you’re having a hot shower set bub up in the same bathroom so they can breathe in the steam from your shower. Warm clothes, water and fluids, vitamin C ie orange or lemons etc. also hydrolit ice blocks and jelly is my girl’s favourite when sick
