Body prep

What foods/drinks did you try to prep your body for labor? I’ve heard about raspberry tea and cranberry juice. Also dates. What did you try and how long after until you went into labor?

Pineapple juice makes your cervix soft. If you really want to go into labor, castor oil, and fruit juice. It tastes awful, and for me, it was a 50/50 shot if it worked, but after I took it, I went into labor thay night.

any kind of fruit juice? Like a fruit punch?

Just FYI, my OB said to definitely not do Castor oil! It’s unpredictable and can lead to major digestive issues for mom and baby. She recommended primrose oil and I’ve also heard good things about okra water, it’s supposed to improve the collagen in your skin so you’re more “stretchy” and MAY decrease the intensity of any tears!

I'm planning on drinking pineapple juice and red raspberry leaf tea. I ate pineapple with my first but I don't think it affected anything. Don't use castor oil! It can cause baby to have a bowel movement before they're born and it can get into their lungs and make them very sick.

@Aja like fruit punch. Granted Katie is right. Primrose oil is better for you. I did castor oil because I didn't want to be induced.

I think the dates are at 36 weeks? Look up mama Natural and raspberry tea you can start at 34 .

Other than that, stay hydrated and try to rest as much as you can. If you are not sleeping, take unisom.

I didn’t go into labor on my own. I had a membrane sweep done the night before 40 weeks because I was scared to go past 40 weeks AND did not want to be induced

The sweep worked for me and I delivered on my due date !

Protein smoothie with dates and raspberry tea are what I have been seeing. Also, doing light stretches down there to help get baby moving and strengthen your pelvic floor could help. I also saw people saying make sure you get rest when you can, then in active labor, you wanna keep some kind of light movement going to help baby move down.
