Some encouragement or realism please

My friend is 36 and single but she wants a family. She's starting to lose hope of it happening. Should she?

Well it’s not impossible but could get harder… I’d probably tell her to get on the dating apps, go to dating events and really ramp up the trying to meet someone. I met my husband when I was out walking my dog and I was 34 at the time and felt similar to your friend. Yet here I am 2.5 years later with a husband and a baby… so yes there’s always hope :)

I am 36 and had our baby girl in December when I was 35 she should defo not give up hope . I have been with my boyfriend for 4 years and had some fertility issues before we got our double rainbow . I totally understand how she feels as I used to feel the same . I also know someone who had a baby a few years older than me it is still possible x

A friend of mine didn’t get married or have kids until in her 40s and now has 2 little girls. Some people it just takes a little longer but she shouldn’t lose hope.
I would recommend her seeing about getting her eggs frozen though as it hasn’t been an easy journey for my friend.

Baby came just after I turned 40… relatively straight forward conception. She shouldn’t give up hope….if being a parent is super important know a single lady who did fostering/adoption

I’m 37 this year and got pregnant with my first at 36. It’s not impossible but it definitely gets harder as you get older. Has she considered doing it alone with a donor if it’s something she really wants?

No. I was 37 when I met my partner online, we decided to try for a baby 7 months afterwards, I fell pregnant straight away and now 4 years later have 2 wonderful little boys and unfortunately an angel baby girl (which wasn’t connected to my age). Before I met my fiancé I hadn’t lost hope but I had accepted that maybe I wouldn’t have children (I had had enough of dating), so now to have 3 I’m extremely grateful. I was told by a midwife that older women can tend to be healthier than younger women. They also see women in their 50’s.

Thanks all. These are great stories/advice. I'm 36 myself and had my son last year at 35. Met my partner at 33. So yes I agree its possible 😊

I met my husband on an app while I was living in America, I was 37. We had to wait almost 2 years through COVID to meet in person. I immigrated here last March, found out we were pregnant 3 weeks later, got married last June, and had our daughter in December at 41. It’s totally possible 😀
