I'm curious what other people's thoughts are on this. I'm a ftm to a beautiful baby girl, and really enjoyed pregnancy and even birth. I think I want a second child, but after that I've been very tempted by the idea of becoming a surrogate. As I said I thoroughly enjoyed pregnancy, and after hearing surrogates are entitled to all the maternity leave it's really made me consider it as a prospect to give me a bit of time with my own child(ren) as they grow up, without leaving my career etc, basically a way to get fully paid career breaks and not only that but give the gift of life to a couple who have been struggling/can't. I think I could also create that detachment and see the baby as something I've helped to produce but not actually mine.
If you could never see yourself being a surrogate I'd love to know what puts you off the idea.

I’d love to too as I really enjoyed pregnancy, but my husband really worries i won’t be able to detach. I have two children and part of me would love a third so I don’t think I can consider surrogacy until I am 100% sure i don’t want another baby.

If you can be a surrogate, it's a beautiful thing. I can't have any more children and having a second would be amazing if I could find a surrogate.

No two pregnancies are the same, no two births are the same. Being pregnant whilst having a child is a very different experience. The people you do it for may have lots of overwhelming wants and needs as you're growing their baby.
I'd have to really know them to know it wouldn't be very stressful

Agree with everything Jodie says! Pregnancy with a little one is so so hard, and I think giving that baby up after those 9 months isn't something I could do. However, that being said, everybody is different and if it's something you think you could do you should really explore it. I wish I could, and if you can give a family a little baby there's nothing more amazing in this world.

I didn’t really enjoy being pregnant, and don’t think I would have survived post partum without having my LO to focus on.
I couldn’t create a detachment towards the baby and I’d 99.9% regret the decision to give them away. As much as my brain knew it wasn’t my baby, my mind couldn’t cope with that.
