Unfortunately these leg cramps are a result of the baby pushing on your pelvic nerves, especially when you lay flat, what I do is; I try to fall asleep in an armchair sitting and as soon as sleep is about to hit me I go to my bed and I instantly fall asleep and don’t have to deal with it 🙏🏾. We don’t have long left to go🙌🏾

I’ve tried that but on my settee soon as I go to bed again it starts again, I don’t even have to be laid flat either for my legs to start 🫠. Xxx

Oh no that’s serious. Try talking to your midwife maybe compression stockings would work, also have you tried pregnancy yoga stretches? Following a simply YouTube vid can help, try this one https://youtu.be/bom3jZ4SCUk?si=O0B6aKiUUU46bqHt

Compression socks, magnesium oil spray and massage on calfs before bed, calf excercises and yoga have been helping me. Defo worked wonders and worth a try! X

I've always suffered from restless legs, not just in pregnancy, husband gives me a foot massage each night before bed and that has worked a treat!

Ditto I take magnesium tablet in the morning and spray some magnesium oil on my feet and massaging the area if needed.

Oh it’s the absolute worst isn’t it! It’s enough to drive you insane! Have you tried taking magnesium tablets? That’s supposed to help, I’ve been and got magnesium oil too but just be careful because the first few times you use it, it itches like a bitch xx

Im the same, I dont think I've slept more than a few hours a night this week! Does anyone know the recommended amount of magnesium to take? X

Baby boy is here!

Just had baby boy this morning at 5:49am 🥹🥰 I was in labor for 10 hours and pushed him out within 9 pushes. I cried tears of joy for like 20 minutes. All that pain was worth seeing his adorable little face and chubby cheeks 🫶🏾

Obstetrician led

I’m having shared care between midwife’s and obstetrician.

My previous pregnancy I had extra growth scans as baby was measuring big and I had pre-eclampsia during labour and a full dilated emergency C-section.

This time round I’m having obstetrician appointments, midwives appointments, cervical length scan every two weeks from 16-22/24, and extra growth scans again .

I’m just finding it all a lot to process can anyone let me know there experiences and if they went on to have a happy pregnancy despite it

Polly??

My 3 year old son is completely insistent that baby sisters name will be Polly. I think he just got attached ages ago after hearing it shouted in the park and now it does matter what name we suggest, even if he says he likes it, he still insists her name is Polly.

Now I dont hate it but its not really what I imagine for my daughter either?? I typically like full (yet girly) names with a cute nickname that can work in either a professional setting or out of work.

I think Polly just feels like a cute nickname to me? Also, I had an imaginary friend heavily inspired by Polly Pocket as a child so I dont think that helps 🤣

We just cant seem to agree on any names as a family so a bit stumped!

Getting your induction call?

I have an induction booked for today, and was told I’d receive a call between 8 am and 9 am to let us know what time to head into the hospital. I haven’t received a call yet.

For the ladies who were induced, when did you receive your call/is it worth me following up with them? I’m sure we’ll get caught at some point soon and don’t want to be that irritating person chasing up necessarily 😂

C section advice

I am 34 weeks tomorrow and have been booked to have an induction at 37 weeks due to my waters leaking! They let me know today that I will be induced using the hormone drip and ive heard so many negative stories about the hormone drip and I also had a very negative induction on my first little girl. So I am looking into having an elective section instead. I know they can be frowned upon and I also know the recovery is alot harder than vaginally birth. But I genuinely think its my best option for me especially as my we live so far away from family and need to have someone come stay with our daughter.

Any advice would be appreciated on what to expect.
