Steraliser & Formula Prep

Hey Can anyone recommend a steraliser - currently using a microwavable plastic dish with lid but I worry it's not sterile enough as once it's open to get one thing out then it's no longer sterile I believe? Also, how does it work if items are wet...if you dry they're no longer sterile? I'm finding this such a minefield! I've been exclusively breastfeeding but we'll be introducing formula soon. Can anyone recommend a process or gadget to help with formula prep? Thank you in advance! X

Milton cold water steriliser is good. Keeps things sterilised for 24hrs in the liquid and out, and only takes 15mins. I also like the Nuby rapid cool for formula prep and the prep machine (although it’s a bit controversial) x

I use the tommee tippe steriliser which is a dream, it keeps things sterile for 24hours you just need to give the bottles a quick wipe when ready to use them x

Milton cold water tablets or liquid in a sealed container is what we use x

The Nuby rapid cooler and you can buy a set that comes with a uv steriliser which makes travelling really easy but I use the tommee tippee steam steriliser for the bottles and the Milton cold water for breast pump parts xx

Tommee tippee UV steriliser is the best. You can do up to 6 bottles at a time and it has a sterilise and dry option and you can also store them inside and it keeps them sterile x

Also I use the prep machine. I make sure that I’m randomly checking the hot shot temp (always seems to be over 70 degrees) clean the machine every 4 weeks as advised on their website and change the filter when you should. I’ve also got a nuby rapid cool for when out and about but this can also be used at home. I felt the same when I started but you soon get used to it x

I’ve got the tommee tippee steriliser and dryer. 100% worth recommend getting. It’s slightly more pricey but makes life so much easier. I also use the rapid cool. Absolute life saver! Especially for when you’re out and about.

You don't wipe the bottles on the inside, I just shake mine off. No steriliser is 100% because most people are sterilising multiple items at once so you do dip in and out of them to get what you need. I think if you sterilise, leave in, then make your bottles up, then they are sterile for 24hrs.
