You can buy them in boots or on Amazon I believe and they're universal locks for radar keys so would work

Anyone can buy one. I have one from an old security job I used to do and honestly it’s a god send. I keep it in my changing back now

Yes, I have one. I was sick of tube staff asking me why I needed a bathroom, like I was an inconvenience. You know what else is an inconvenience? A screeching toddler who has wet herself due to delayed trains. So I bought a key and I use it when there’s no staff around, life saver.

So they work in any baby changing/disabled toilets? Sorry if it's a silly question, I'm just scared that if I try to unlock one of the changing area doors and it doesn't work and people are watching me that I look silly lol

Yeah, all uk disabled loos (which is usually the baby change) use radar keys. Just give it a few knocks in case someone is actually in there.

I don’t have one but also might get one for the same reason. I went to the shopping centre a few weeks ago and they were locked so I went back outside I told my mum that they were locked and a lady overheard and offered to open it for me with her key

Are you allowed to just open the toilets without asking a member of staff 😂🙈 im a shy person so I would feel bad haha maybe I might still open it but just make it known that I’m doing it. As in if they catch you doing it will you not get in trouble ?

@Nokziie yes, the radar key scheme has been around for a while and most people with a disability are given one to use at their leisure. They are normally locked when not in use to stop abuse and misuse in public places. Staff regularly aren’t around to help or don’t even have the key to hand. I’ve only ever had one person say “hey, did you just unlock that” and I said “yes, I have a radar and we need to use the bathroom”. That was it x
