toddler listening
so I have a 2 1/2 year-old and a one year old, my oldest doesn’t really know how to listen when someone calls him he just walks away he also doesn’t know how to hold hands instead he throws himself on the ground, I need help and advice it’s so hard for me to take them both out alone because the oldest won’t come back he just runs away… I don’t know if it’s his age or what but I really want to start taking them out more often it’s just so hard😭😭

I tell my 2.5 year old that he can hold my hand or I can pick him up. Obviously you can't carry them everywhere but it often works.

I have a 2.5 year old too and she doesn’t listen. She doesn’t like to hold hands when walking. And throws tantrums when we have to leave somewhere. She’ll run away a lot. I guess the advice I’ve gotten is to sit down and try to explain why we don’t run away. Or maybe if he doesn’t want to hold your hand, try having him hold something else like a pocket. Idk I’m going through it too, hard to go out with her. This age they are just so curious and have new freedom!
