I think our family is suited to just one child, my husband is away a lot so I do all the parenting, we often move around so don't have a support system emotionally or physically. I am enjoying my son, but the though of adding to our family makes me fill with panic, even though another one would be nice, I don't think it would work for our family dynamic. I am keen to hear from those who have had two and whether it really is that much harder?!

I had my first child then found out I was pregnant again ( not intentionally ).
They have 10.5 months between them. Although it can be hard at times it’s not actually as bad as you might think. It can definitely be stressful but you just have to think that it won’t last forever that’s what helps me get through most of time and I still want another within good time🙂
I think it really does depend on yourself and if you feel you could have more than one child.
I just can’t wait for my children to grow up together xxx

But I don’t move around as you say you do and I do have someone I heavily rely on sometimes due to having no vehicle currently, apart from that I wouldn’t say my support systems actually that great apart from that one person and I’m doing just fine!
We can do anything we put our minds to🙂xx

We only planned for one I have fertility issues so I was more than happy to have him but also financially as well I didn’t want to struggle for money having another child,We unexpectedly got pregnant again we now have a 7 year old and a 7 month old it nice t have a big age gap but I’m already an older mum and my oldest has ASD so he can be had work on his own add a baby that’s not sleeping and teething to the mix and I’m done by 9pm I’m zapped. My hubby works 9-7.30 pm so he’s not here alot either to help. I love my boys but it’s definitely hard work and we have the risk of our 2nd child having issues as well as we have a rare chromosome disorder so potentially I could have 2 kids with ASD and I’m worried about that now as well.

I previously Nannied for 3 under 3 and at times it was a little hard but in general it felt easier as they all entertain each other😊
thank you for sharing this, I really appreciate it. My husband has ADHD and is on the spectrum so there is a high chance my son could be the same. This does sound tough, but sounds like you are doing so well. I hope for you it gets a little easier as your 7 month year old grows up 🤞🏻xxx

We had our first and I was happy to just have the one as he was an incredibly unsettled and unhappy baby and it put a massive strain on my mental health.
We have obviously just had another but my eldest is 5, it was a "now or never" kind of thing and I'm so happy we decided to have another now. He's the perfect addition to our family.
My husband has now had the snip so definitely no more for us! 🤣
congratulations! Looks like a lovwly family 💙

It’s very challenging at times especially doing most of the child care on my own dad is also on the spectrum but he’s not diagnosed but he has the same inherited disorder our son has so sometimes I feel like I have 3 kids as I also have to pick up the slack where hubby struggles. We’re currently waiting for diagnosis for adhd for our 7 year old as well. It definitely takes a toll on me I have zero life now it rare I can leave my house unless it’s school run or nipping to Tesco in the week as I have to play catch up at how with all the jobs.

I find it hard! My eldest is 5 and started school the same week I have my now 7.5m old. I feel I don’t give my eldest enough attention so feel guilty and then I’m shattered by 8pm so usually head to bed. Won’t last forever but I do find it tough-I don’t think I’m a particularly baby person though-I find mat leave quite suffocating at times which I know sounds awful but I am a better mum when I can work and also look after the kids after!!
yes! Some of my friends love being off on mat leave, I was definitely excited to start work again!! That is tough! I am already in bed at 8pm with one, so would be crawling around with 2 I think!

My 5 yo is great but yes I’m tired 😂! I’m a teacher so going back after half term just for 4 weeks so we can enjoy the summer hols before proper term starting in spt. Hopefully I look less haggard by then ha x
this does sound hard. I hear you about picking up the slack! My husband loves a tidy house but doesnt clean, and socially supporting him is a lot too! I say it is like a full time job managing him alone🤣.
When did you first start noticing signs of ASD in your first born? I have read it can up to 18 months or longer...

I hope it’s not rude of me to ask this but what were the symptoms ( if this is the right word ) you found in your child that you had a suspicion they had ASD?
Is this similar to adhd or autism? Sorry I’m unsure🤔.
( you don’t have to answer🙂 ) xx

Your not wrong it’s like a full time job we have a big house so 4 beds and also 3 bathrooms and downstairs loo they need cleaning every day with just boys in the house they make a mess around the toilet!! 4 cats so lots of fur so I mop and hover every day. Hubby doesn’t see the mess but i notice it all the time he doesn’t see a problem I’m basically cook, cleaner and generally the house slave!
So the asd i noticed very early on i actually used to work within childcare and education so have lots of training. I noticed from about 8 months Harry wasn’t like other children he was very quiet didn’t meet mile stones like rolling but also knew that kids develop differently so didn’t think much to it when he got to 1 things became more noticeable but when I spoke to h.v I was dismissed because of his age after 1 his meltdowns got bad he was not eating food only certain ones I hit breaking point at 2.5 and broke down at his h.v appointment he was sent to paediatrician
