Headbutting

My little one headbuts the floor when I tell him off, is this normal?🫠 we have solid wooden flooring so it’s got to hurt but it doesn’t stop him

Lool same with my daughter. She will purposely bang her head if I take something dangerous from her. It doesn’t hurt her but I usually give her Nurofen afterwards in case she has a headache

Haha! My little boy does this all the time he even sometimes gets bruises HV says it’s out of frustration he doesn’t know how to express It yet. My partner also did this as a child too so I blame him 😂 completely normal just a phase 😂😂

Hey, my little boy does this too when he’s angry/frustrated. I think it’s quite normal. We had the 2 year check up yesterday and I mentioned it to the health visitor as one of the questions was about your child ever delivering hurting themselves. she didn’t seem concerned. Just said that these things should improve as they get older and learn to express themselves / use more words.

Sorry that should have said *deliberately hurting themselves

Yep, my toddler does this when he doesn’t get his way. I usually don’t react, I tell Him to stop cause it might be hurting, but if he wants to take his frustration out I will let him do it for a minute 😂 it is a bit funny though, with the big crocodile tears and puppy face while he does it too

Yes, mine does this very regularly when he doesn't get his own way, he'll even seek out hard floors/walls to do it 😳. noone so far has seemed worried about it but will mention it again at his next review. When he's very upset and going continuously, I try to grab something soft to pop in front of him so he doesn't hurt himself too much but I can't always manage to.

Mine does this too! I try not to give it attention, but praise him when he's calmed down. I usually offer a cuddle to see if it distracts him! 😂

Wow, thank god it’s not just my boy then🤦🏼‍♀️😂 I do ignore him or sometimes say that’s silly you’ll hurt yourself

Haha yeah I usually say uh oh. Or oh dear 😅

Our LO does this too and gave himself a raised bump the other day after a massive 40 min tantrum!!! I explained this to nursery and they also said it is common and they usually grow out of it by the time they are about 4 years old xx

@Emma 😳 4 years old?! Mine started at 1 and 3 months. He’s now 2 and 3 months old. I was hoping this would stop soon. I’m finding it very scary and triggering 😖
