Milestones

Does anyone else feel like their baby isn’t reaching milestones like other babies this age? It worries me and makes me feel like a bad mom even though I do my best.

I feel this! I get down on myself too when I see other babies my son's age who are more advanced or consistent in certain areas. I try to remind myself that he's probably more advanced in other ways than those other babies! We are definitely doing our best ❤️

I think that if your pediatrician hasn't said your child is developmentally delayed, the 'other babies this age' shouldn't matter since they're all reaching milestones at their own pace Usually when you're comparing your baby too often it may be you're spending too much time on social media. Your baby is likely fine and you're doing what you need to do. There aren't many milestones they should be reaching at this age 🖤

What milestones are you concerned about?

I try to go based off of charts for developmental milestones instead of comparing to other people. Like, my baby has been army crawling for weeks, but she can't sit up propped yet. She pulls her hands to her mouth, but she won't grab toys yet, etc. But according to actual medical standards, she's doing just fine. Everything happens at their pace. If you have concerns, talk with your pediatrician:)

My LO laughed for the first time a week ago and hasn’t laughed since so I get you mama. He also hasn’t tried to roll at all and doesn’t try to grasp for toys intentionally

What I’ve noticed is that whenever I think this, my girl learns that new skill within a few days.

Same @Alicia or like 2 weeks later
