Sore neck!

My little girls neck (under all her rolls) is so sore! It’s like bright red and sticky to touch, I clean it every morning with warm water and cotton balls, I then dab it dry and blow on it, we do loads of tummy time where she lifts her head right up so the skin is exposed to the air and it’s still bright red and soar. It also smells a bit some times and there’s loads of gunk in there!
She barely dribbles any milk as she’s on the thickened reflux milk.

Some days I’m like yes it’s just a little bit pink and looks much better but than the next it’s back to being tacky and bright red and sore again!

What else can I do?

Put medicated powder on it, or sudocream x

If she's not dribbling/being sick maybe try not cleaning it every morning and see if that makes a difference. I find it so hard to dry under my boys neck so if he's had a bath the night before (I bath every 2-3 days) then I don't always wash him the following mornings

We took our little girl to the doctors for this, they prescribed some cream to get on top of it to start with, only used it for 2 days and it cleared it right up. The doctor also said to keep it clean (the same way you’re already doing) then to apply a thin layer of vasaline to stop any moisture sitting there - seems to be working well so far! We’ve done it for the last 4/5 weeks now? Xx

My baby’s armpits, neck roll and behind the ears get cheesy. I have to clean and dry them 2x a day at least! 🥲

I have a refluxy girl so we get sores in the roles too. We clean it and then use talc free powder to dry it up for a couple of hours and once its dry put sudocreme on it. Clears up in a day!

My baby girl’s neck and her rolls on her legs were like that, my pediatrician had told me to use the Vaseline between it but that didn’t work so I started using Ammens powder and in one day I could have seen a difference and now it’s no longer red and sticky.

Regularly clean it and also sudocrem helps 💛

I blow dry my LO after every wash and bath and has made a big difference. I find sudacrem helps too.

Good tip about nipple cream I’m going to try that.
