Is there such thing as "too early" for c section due to bigger size?

Hey! Hoping someone knows more than I do as I'm struggling... I'm 36w2d and measuring pretty big - 6lbs 7oz at the 34w scan.

Both cesarean and inducing has been mentioned (I really don't want to be induced) but I've heard nothing on timescales yet which is worrying me. Could they do a section at any point between now and due date, or is it only after so many weeks etc?

With it being a section (likely anyway) guessing it won't matter how big he is so may schedule it closer to due date?? So confused!!

When I had my c-section due to my baby being breech the earliest they would schedule it in was 39 weeks. This time I’m having to be induced because baby is big and they don’t want me to go full term. Again the earliest they’ll induce is 39 weeks unless baby come naturally before that date. I’ve just been given my induction date for 27th which I’ll be exactly 39 weeks. I was told the earliest they’ll induce/section for a big baby is 39 weeks.

C-sections are always 39+ weeks where there's no immediate risks to baby/mum because there is a small increased risk before then of respiratory distress in the baby.

With my first I had a growth scan at 35+4. Showed there was no growth from my previous scan which was at 34 weeks. I had my c section at 36+4 and had a healthy baby boy.

I was told it’d be a 39 weeks for a bigger baby xx

@Rachel do you mind me asking how old your first is? Intrigued if things have changed much but hoping I can follow with section at 37 or so, the pain is real. He's growing quicker than I can make room 🥲

Thank you all for your experiences here, so many questions!'x

He’ll be 2 next week.
Had to have the steroids to strengthen his lungs before he was born. I’ve been told if all goes to plan then they like doing them at 39 weeks but my midwife said any concerns with growth, movements, mum and baby health then they will book anytime from 37 weeks onwards.
Good luck. I get my c section date tomorrow. I’m 36+2. X

How did you get on with the section date, all go okay? @Rachel

Got a provisional date which is 15th but there was a slight dip in the growth. So booked in for another scan on 7th and then they’ll see from the scan whether they need to bring c section forward or happy to wait till 15th.
There is also a 3 week wait in my hospital for c sections. That was the next available slot.
Im also seeing midwife on 3rd. X

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Constant braxton hicks!

I’m 29 weeks tomorrow and they are constant especially when I’m walking about!

This didn’t start happening until I was like 36 weeks with my son 😩

Anyone else the same?
